Since opening in early 2017, Brix Wine Bar & Bistro has earned an unparalleled reputation with wine aficionados as a favorite gathering spot. 

Beyond the attractive wine list, Brix features cocktail classics as well as trend-setters. What a great place to enjoy Happy Hour!

No wonder locals gravitate to Brix after a busy day at work. For travelers, the eatery offers a welcome change from frou-frou drinks.

For those celebrating a special occasion, keep in mind Veuve Cliquot is the champagne pour in the spotlight at Brix.  — a perfect complement to the understated ambiance with high ceilings, comfortable seating options, sophisticated bar area, romantic lighting. and optional outdoor dining on the deck.

The menu is inspired by intriguing cuisines of the tropics and all around the world with small-plate options designed to encourage sharing. 

Taste-tempting menu specials change daily and might include dishes such as roasted Brussels sprouts, veggie wontons, soy-glazed tuna, sweet chili salmon or signature Brix melt with house-made fries. 

Additionally, creative appetizers such as Maryland blue crab cake with passionfruit slaw, cheese ’n charcuterie board, and classic shrimp cocktail are frequently featured.

Entrees of the evening are equally fresh, varied, and perfectly prepared.

By the way, inspiration for the restaurant’s name Brix is based on the word used to describe: “A measurement of the sugar content of grapes, indicating the degree of the grapes’ ripeness at harvest.”


Brix Wine Bar & Bistro is located at in Havensight at Port of Sale Mall. Doors are open Monday through Saturday from 4 to 10 p.m.

SPOTLIGHTING THE LATE CYRIL E. KING (1921- 1978)

Cyril Emmanuel King was born on St. Croix in 1921. In 1949 he was appointed as an aide to Senator Hubert Humphrey of Minnesota, becoming the first African American to serve in the office of a U.S. senator. He was elected to the Virgin Islands Senate in 1972. In 1974, King was elected Governor of the U.S. Virgin Islands. He died in office in 1978. In 1984, the Harry S. Truman Airport was renamed Cyril E. King Airport by the Virgin Islands Legislature.
