Virgin
Islands
Even on the sunniest days in June, you can count on cooling trade winds to keep you comfy while exploring the endless intrigues of the U.S. Virgin Islands. Whatever the weather, you’ll find plenty of “Fun-Shine” to brighten the way. In other words, night or day in the tropics, the ‘fun’ is always shining.
These days, keeping costs down is on just about every traveler’s mind. Although inflation trackers report hotel accommodation prices have increased by nearly 30-percent nationwide, at Flamboyan On The Bay Resort & Villas room rates remain the same — including still-in-place “off-season” rates. Best of all, the resort is continually upgrading rooms and adding new services while lovingly maintaining the appeal of lush grounds overlooking breathtakingly beautiful Magens Bay.
Just recently, Flamboyan opened the Coconut Post Office. Named after this monthly online publication, the all-new facility is a friendly place to pick up complimentary V.I. travel magazines and informative brochures highlighting places to go and things to do in the V.I.
While there, you might meet staff members of the Coconut Post who will be glad to answer questions and share “insider” details on upcoming events. Additionally, the office is home to the resort’s complimentary Lending Library — another handy convenience.
In this issue of Coconut Post, tasteful dining experiences are showcased at Amalia Cafe in Palm Passage. What a unique place to enjoy lunch or dinner!
Another safe bet for fun is a day trip to St. John where shopping at Mongoose Junction will take you to an entirely new level of tropical intrigues.
And while you are on St. John, when it comes to gaming fun, Parrot Club in Wharfside Village is THE place to be.
One thing’s for sure; wherever you go this summer in the Virgin Islands, you’ll get the chance to enjoy plenty of “Fun-Shine.” Enjoy!

COCO BITS
In addition to Coconut Post spotlighting slices of life in paradise, look for “Coco-bits” — tidbits of tasty info, island history, and fun-to-know facts scattered throughout the publication. Keep in mind here in the islands ‘views’ are visual — not so much editorial, LOL
A Sure Bet for Fun: The Parrot Club in Cruz Bay
Located near the St. John ferry dock in Wharfside Village, The Parrot Club offers fun-filled gaming entertainment. Party with friends in a nightlife setting or escape the sun to enjoy cool air-conditioned comfort — a perfect place to enjoy tropical “Fun-Shine!”
Mongoose Junction, A St. John Shopping “Must”
So much more than a shopping center in the tropics, when it comes to everything from shopping, browsing and dining — to discovering unique art galleries in a storied setting — Mongoose Junction in Cruz Bay is an absolute “must see” on St. John.
Spotlight on USVI Hotel & Tourism Association
Flamboyan Resort is a proud member of USVIHTA,a forward-thinking non-profit that “… serves as the unifying organization for hotels, guest houses, inns, condominiums, campgrounds and other tourism related business in the St. Thomas-St. John district of the United States Virgin Islands.”
Flamboyan Resort Opens Coconut Post Office
In addition to publishing the Coconut Post online, Flamboyan Resort opened the Coconut Post Office. Official ‘home’ to the monthly publication, it’s a handy place to pick up island travel magazines and brochures showcasing places to go in the V.I.
Enjoy Splashes of Spanish Flair at Amalia CAFE
Hanging outside Amalia Café in Palm Passage, a small sign resembling a family crest reads: “Meson Amalia.” In Spanish, “Meson” translates to a small restaurant, café or tavern offering drinks and meals in a welcoming atmosphere. How perfect!
Cruzan Rum – Deeply Rooted in VI History
Known locally as “The Rum of the Islands,” Cruzan Rum is rooted deep in St. Croix. Since the early 17th century, islanders have been adept at producing molasses and rum. Founded in 1760, the Cruzan tradition has been carried on by eight generations of the Nelthropp family at Estate Diamond.
