Whether concocting a Caribbean cocktail or creating a meal to enjoy in paradise, you want to include every tasty ingredient.

In this month’s issue of Coconut Post, we are taking tropical recipes to the next level by adding the most important element of all — happiness.

With that thought in mind, Flamboyan Resort is pleased to recommend one of our very favorite restaurants. When it comes to an ideal recipe for delightful dining on St. Thomas, nothing beats reservations at Oceana Restaurant & Bistro.

Owned and operated by iconic St. Thomas Executive Chef/ Entrepreneur Patricia La Corte, the popular spot is located by the sea in Frenchtown at Villa Olga.  In this issue of Coconut Post, we invite you to read about the joys of wining and dining at Oceana.

As far as creative recipes for success are concerned, Flamboyan Resort’s on-premise coffee shop, Northside Grind, deserves a special spotlight. Proprietors Trish and Tom Dahl are forever adding new items to their menu listings.

In addition to custom sandwiches, wraps and fresh salads, refreshments range from gourmet brew to smoothies. And now, locally made kombucha is available. Check out healthy and refreshing Virgin Leaf Kombucha in a variety of flavors available now at Northside Grind. By the way, the empty bottles are collected at recycle points — including Northside Grind. What a happy thought!

At nearby RooT 42 Bar & Grill, Executive Chef Charlie Moan recently joined the team. In the pages that follow, you’ll find out what this talented chef brings to the table.

Recently, the restaurant created a very creative recipe for romance when Vinny Promuto “popped the question” to Shawna Powell. The St. Croix residents arrived for a weeklong stay at Flamboyan Resort as boyfriend and girlfriend and left as a happily engaged couple. Thanks to RooT 42’s Restaurant Manager, Jamie Walthall, the duo has beautiful photos of their special moment to treasure forever.

Life in paradise isn’t complete without a day at the beach and Magens Bay has extra special recipes for fun awaiting you at Yak Shak Paddleboard and Kayak Rentals. In this issue of Coconut Post, you’ll meet Yak Shak’s very own H L Freyn. H L says he started out in the business by “…hanging out and helping out at age nine.” 30 years later, H L is the guy you can count on to show you the ropes for a great experience on the water.

Whether you are on island for a day, week, month, or a lifetime, take time to create your very own “Recipes for Happiness.” Enjoy!

COCO BITS

In addition to Coconut Post spotlighting slices of life in paradise, look for “Coco-bits”  — tidbits of tasty info, island history, and fun-to-know facts scattered throughout the publication. Keep in mind here in the islands ‘views’ are visual — not so much editorial, LOL
