Where on St. Thomas are you located?
We are on the north side of the island — on Magens Bay Road — at the intersection of Routes 35 and 42.
What credit cards do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards: American Express, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is at 4 p.m., check-out is 10 a.m.
When is your high season?
Our busiest time of year is mid-December to the end of April.
Is the resort close to the beach?
We are a half-mile above Magens Bay Beach. It is a 12-minute walk downhill, or a minute and a half car ride.
How far is the resort from town and the airport?
Charlotte Amalie is 3.5 miles from the resort — a ten-minute drive, depending on traffic. Cyril King Airport is 7.5 miles or about a 20-minute drive.
Is the resort opened all year round?
Yes, we are open 365-days a year.
What is the history of this resort?
Opened in 1967, it was originally known as Indies House Hotel. In 1976, the property was acquired by Magens Point, Inc. and remains under the same ownership to this day. It was renamed Magens Point Hotel and became Magens Point Resort in the early 1980s. In 2015, the name was changed to Flamboyan On The Bay Resort & Villas.
What type of resort is Flamboyan On The Bay?
We are a small secluded 2-star boutique resort located on a lush tropical hilltop overlooking Magens Bay Beach.
Are you all-inclusive?
No, we are not an all-inclusive resort.
What is your tipping policy?
While tipping is not required, the standard suggested rate is $5 per day, per room for housekeepers, and whatever you deem appropriate for additional services. Restaurant servers throughout the island expect anywhere from a 15 to 20-percent gratuity.
How many units are available?
We currently operate 16 one-bedroom units, 6 two-bedroom units, and 4 studio units. Our additional studio complex with 20-units is under extensive post-hurricane renovation and will reopen next year.
Do you allow pets?
No. We do not allow pets because we operate an active cat sanctuary on the property. Some of our resident felines have lived on premises for more than a decade.
Do you offer room service?
No. The on-premise restaurant operates as a separate entity; a convenient take-out service is available.
Do you have a laundry service?
Yes, we offer a front desk drop-off / next-day pick-up (cold wash-dry-fold) $15 flat rate up to 30 lbs.
