Whether you’re in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands as a visitor, a local — or always in spirit — Coconut Post keeps you posted on fun-filled news ’n views. Published monthly by Flamboyan On The Bay Resort & Villas, we’re focused on sharing our people, places, and fun things happening in paradise.

Community spirit runs deep in the Virgin Islands. Many local businesses support non-profit organizations and events — not only with monetary and in-kind product donations but hands-on help, as well.

Working behind the scenes, talented multi-taskers support a variety of important causes ranging from health care to education, animal services, and beach cleanups.

The enthusiastic team makes a visual splash, arriving in bright red logo shirts, setting up welcome tents, and stocking ice-filled barrels with cases of complimentary beverages including Powerade sports drinks, Dasani purified water and Glaceau Smartwater.

At a cleanup event on Brewers Beach, General Manager Hugo Torres took a moment to comment, “Everyone at Coca Cola sincerely wants to help. We’ve got to keep our islands clean.” True to his word, in addition to providing ice-cold refreshments, Torres and his team made multiple trips to the coastline and back for several hours, removing debris along the way.

Whether you are on St. Thomas for a day, a week, or a lifetime, please do your part to beautify our islands — and support the businesses that reflect the best of our community spirit.
