Top of the page: When it comes to fresh produce, you’ve come to the right place — The Fruit Bowl.

For nearly half a century, The Fruit Bowl has been pleasing savvy islanders and visitors with the very freshest picks of produce in paradise.

Established in 1975 by Martin ‘Marty’ Goldberg, over time, the family-owned business has expanded to offer a complete selection of meats, dairy products, groceries, seafood, frozen foods, gluten-free products, Keto and Paleo-friendly items, wine, beer, liquor and more — as well as an ever-widening array of organics.

According to Fodor’s, “This grocery store is the best place on the island to go for fresh fruits and vegetables. There are many ethnic, vegetarian, and health-food items as well as a fresh meat area, seafood department, and salad bar.”

The moment you open the glass door, colorful displays of tempting gifts from Mother Nature vie for your attention. Keenly aware that supporting local suppliers is a wise decision from every perspective, you will find a special section solely dedicated to offering locally grown and locally made items.

Be sure to check out the appealing salad bar mentioned in the Fodor’s accolade. The Fruit Bowl invites shoppers to choose from a wide array of tasty greens, freshly made toppings and accompaniments, dressings and more.

Similar to grades of meat, fruit also has varying grades and The Fruit Bowl offers the best available products. The shop also prides itself on competitive pricing.

At The Fruit Bowl, friendly staff members and managers are highly knowledgeable in all departments and product lines — and always eager to help.

From the start, The Fruit Bowl has been dedicated to serving the interests of the community — not only by providing quality items but also by giving part-time jobs to young students.

The Fruit Bowl participates in many community programs and has sponsored the annual “Women’s Jogger Jam,” since 1982. The largest running event on St. Thomas, it benefits The St. Thomas Family Resource Center.

The Fruit Bowl is amazing! We visited it for the 1st time in March of this year after meeting one of the owners (a true Pet Lover & Advocate) and were thrilled with the salad bar and selection of fresh fruit and vegetables.

We will be visiting the Fruit Bowl during each visit from now on – it is wonderful and we will reccomend to all our friends that visit STT.

And Thanks for the article – it’s very informative and spot on!
