On March 23, Southland Gaming sent official notices to Flamboyan On The Bay Resort & Villas — and all VLT Retailers throughout the U.S. Virgin Islands — advising the temporary closure of all Video Lottery Terminals until further notice. The decision was based on Governor Bryan’s edict that non-essential businesses shut down temporarily due to the coronavirus pandemic. Said Shaine Gaspard of Southland Gaming, “At this time, we will be shifting our focus to find areas where we can assist the efforts in combatting the effects of coronavirus in our community.” He added, “We promise to have our VLT business up and running at full capacity when it is safe to do so.”
Known as the “Father of Impressionism,” Jacob Abraham Camille Pissarro was a Danish-French Impressionist and Neo-Impressionist painter born on the island of St. Thomas in 1830 when it was part of the Danish West Indies. Art historian John Rewald called Pissarro the “dean of the Impressionist painters.” Pissarro was also one of Paul Gauguin’s masters.
